Use Essential Oils with Care!

Words of Caution from the Singing Bird...

Essential oils are some of nature’s most potent natural compounds. When used responsibly essential oils can be beneficial in many ways; please remember to always use with discretion.

The information found on this website is in general and is supplied for the benefit for those to enjoy the safe and responsible use of essential oil and natural healing products.  It is suggested to consult a professional if you are seeking medical help. Singing Bird Incorporated® is not responsible for any misadventures resulting from the inappropriate use of essential oil or any products. If you would like to learn more about aromatherapy and using essential oil there is quite a bit of literature by reputable authors and organizations and/or we recommend you contact a qualified aroma therapist and/or practitioner.

Storage

All pure essential oils eventually reach a point when they lose their fragrance and therapeutic properties; to prolong the shelf life of your oils keep them tightly sealed in dark bottles and store in semi-cool place out of sunlight.  Most will last over a year and some such as patchouli will actually improve with age similar to a fine wine.

Precautions

Undiluted essential oils can cause skin irritation so it is recommended to perform a patch test or dilute them with carrier oils before applying them directly to the skin if you are unsure.

Never take essential oils internally unless directed by your medical practitioner; if essential oils are swallowed you should consult a physician immediately.

Pregnant women should be aware that many oils should not be used during pregnancy. You should always consult doctor before using essential oils.

Essential oils should be kept out of the reach of children.

Keep away from eyes if they do come in contact; flush immediately with cold water and consult a physician.

Some Essential Oils may damage finishes on furniture and other items.

Always use essential oils with Caution.
